A Big Boost for Shou' Shu'
Tue, 2010-07-20 15:05 | by Shun Shifu WeaverWouldn't it be fantastic if Shou' Shu' was available everywhere. I mean it's just such an incredible art it's a shame it's unavailable in most places.
One of our missions is to make quality Shou' Shu' instruction available in as many places as possible and one of the ways we do that is popularizing Shou' Shu'
Right now our fitness at your desk application Break Pal has just been accepted into a major national competition put on by the First Lady Michelle Obama and the USDA.
The exercises in this application are Shou' Shu' based. So if the application wins it will receive a huge amount of national press and will be promoted by none other than the US government. So Shou' Shu' will get promoted right along with it.
Want to help? It will just take you about 1 minute. All you have to do is vote. You have to create an account at the site to vote but it's easy.

OOPS
Sat, 2010-07-17 17:46 | by Shun Shifu WeaverSorry everyone. We had a hosting issue that caused some problems
About three weeks ago I switched the site to a new fancy VPS (faster server)
Unfortunately there was a DNS (where the domain was actually pointing to) issue.
It seems that some people were seeing the old version of the site and some the new. When we got it straightened out we realized we had lost a lot of data.
So basically if you posted something, created an account, messaged somebody in the last three weeks there's a chance it got deleted.
Sorry about the issue. We just didn't catch it in time to save it completely.
However on the positive side, this site should run a whole lot faster now
Tiger Tuesdays
Tue, 2010-06-08 16:30 | by Shun Shifu WeaverWell with enough first degrees floating around here I guess it's time to start a Tiger group.
So here's the deal. We've got brown belts that need attention on Tuesdays too. You first degrees make sure the brown belts get some killer lessons and I'll make sure you get some great tiger lessons.
the brown belts start showing at 5:30 so anyone who can be here grab them and get them taught. Several are black preps and others close to it. Let's get a push on and get them to black belt. That way about the time your getting that tiger down you'll have someone to practice on. :-)
So what do you say. One pride of tigers coming up.

Fri, 2010-06-04 21:11 | by Shun Shifu WeaverAnnouncing a new site from the ISSA http://www.shoushushifus.com
We'll be using this site to record our Shou Shu lineage. It's a work in progress and always will be.
Please help me out by letting me know who taught who (Especially Da' Shifu Clark). Just post a comment to this blog entry and I'll add the info to the site.
Same rules as the ISSA if a Shifu was tested under Da' Shifu Al Moore Sr. for his rank we respect that rank. All others will have to be certified under the ISSA.
The site is built in flash and will stay organized even with hundreds or thousands of entries.
Enjoy!
New User Sign Ups
Wed, 2010-06-02 15:32 | by Shun Shifu WeaverUnfortunately I've had to change the new user sign up process. The spammers found us and the site has been hit with multiple spammers trying to post their junk.
So from here on out I will have to authorize all new user sign ups. I'll try to get to them as quickly as possible.
Kung Fu Bear
Mon, 2010-05-24 14:57 | by Shun Shifu WeaverOk so for days I've been wondering why in the heck we're getting so much traffic at www.shengchikungfu.com for the term "Kung Fu Bear"
We rank #1 in google for the term and have for a long time. But all of a sudden we're getting huge spikes in traffic on the term.
Well I finally figured it out. Evidently this bear in Japan has made quite a hit of himself.
Looks like Wu Shu to me though. Shou' Shu' staff doesn't spin much
Oh yeah, and some spammer stole all the content from my bear kung fu page and put it on their site. Makes me angry but I guess I should be used to it by now. Happens all the time.
Another big anouncement
Fri, 2010-04-30 09:37 | by Shun Shifu WeaverWe've got another big announcement coming soon. Stay tuned to this station

Classic Shou' Shu'
Thu, 2010-04-15 14:01 | by Shun Shifu WeaverI think this is the coolest video ever. Just posted it to youtube.
I'm going to see if I can track down the original and maybe the missing pieces are available. I was pretty bummed it cut out early.
It's funny to think, I was probably in grade school when this was filmed.
I can name three people in this video. How many can you name?
Short Round houses
Wed, 2010-04-14 19:35 | by matthew millerI try to practice as often as I can. Awhile ago I was getting some pointers on doing a short round house on a hanging bag. As I was gaining in the lesson I learned that those bags have a hard plastic core in the middle. Several times, as I was getting better at the kick, I was hitting that core. Needless to say getting the kick better was great, butting hitting the core........ ouch. At mt my home gym, better known as the garage, I have a sand filled hanging bag that is 90lbs. I started off, you know, wheel kicks, side thrusts, hookers and oh yes short round houses. Much to my dismay, and several colorful words later, that in retrospect would have made a pirate blush, I discovered that my bag has a core in it as well. Not only did I feel the core this time but, now I have a piece of it leaning against one side of the bag. Now I have to spin the bag and place that spot away from in coming foot work. Does any one know how to repair the core?
