A little story about Da Shifu Senior

I don't know why this memory came to me so strongly this morning--maybe because it's a beautiful spring day and I'm out in my backyard practicing my Orange material oh so slowly. But I recall a story told to me by my old friend Shifu Rich McDaniels of the Merced school about a black belt class, Da Shifu, and and a clueless blackbelt.

Now, I must stress that I was NOT there at the time--is it hersay if I heard it first hand by someone who was there? At any rate, the class, circa 1987, was focused on Orange belt stuff, and somewhere around Clawing Panther, a shifu, whose name has been lost to history, made some sort of crack about Da Shifu within ear shot of Da Shifu--something like "Da Shifu did that wrong". Again, I don't remember the speciifics, but he was singled out to throw the next punch for the "example".

Da Shifu swept him clean off his feet, dumped him on his head, and neatly stomped him across the forehead. The room went silent except for the collective "Ohh".

Shifu McDaniel said that the dummy walked around the rest of the class with a bright red heel mark across his eyebrows. I can only imagine that he had the smarts to keep his mouth shut after that.

yep

and it was NOT on shifu leo. Erardi thought because Da Shifu did not complete the throw that he could not do it on Leo. Wrong so he did it on him and the stomp was funny too
