I'd like to welcome Mr. Theoktistou to the site and to the Quan. Mr. Theoktistou is our newest white belt and was refferred by Mr Schmuck. English is his second language but you wouldn't know it. Mr. Theoktistou is already showing a great deal of dedication. I'm sure he'll be a success.

So say hello everyone and have fun learning to pronounce his name.

P.S. We're still struggling with trying to get things working properly on the site.

I've just made a change over at www.shoushu.com which allows people (even anonymous users) to comment to my posts over there. The comments will go into a queue and will be private until I moderate them.

I would encourage you to go over and comment to something. That is our public site. It can be read by anyone. Help me get a little activity brewing over there.

Just remember that it can be read by anyone including people that think we are the scourge of Shou' Shu'. Smile when you post and keep it positive.

Great News!

The Sheng Chi Foundation hit the front page of the Stockton Record today. It's a great article and I think it will do lots of good. I would really appreciate it if everyone would help me out in promoting it in any way possible. I wrote an article about the article on the Valley Springs Website

Please go there, read the article, and follow the suggestions to help promote it. this could go pretty big with a little help from you guys.

I already have been emailed by Tom Callos (he's a big name in martial arts) and he's promoted it out to his list. I noticed some pretty big names in the people he emailed about it. Jhoon Ree was one of them. Jhoon Ree is in tight with the President from what I hear. He recieved several awards from president Ronald Reagan also. 

Email this out to people and get everyone promoting the article.

I haven't seen the show but I'm really happy about it. I figured this sort of thing would happen but didn't think it would happen this soon or on mainstream TV. Especially MTV

Our prayers are with those who were injured at the fair. The latest reports that I've gotten through the rumor mill is that everyone is OK.

Hopefully they'll be well enough to be in the studio training soon. Keep them in your thoughts.

For some time now we've been working on putting together the International Shou Shu Association. Well it's official. The ISSA is an official entity as recognized by the US government. Friday we got our incorporation papers.Now there's lots more to do. Actually now the fun begins.The ISSA will have several divisions and lots of opportunity for participation. If you'd like to get involved in some way just let us know.The three founding board members are myself, Shifu Liz, and Greg Smith. Fot those who don't know Greg (and probably most of you don't. He's not a Shifu. So why was he chosen? Because he, like myself, was a very close friend of Da' Shifu. He spent a lot of time with him and knows very well what he would have wanted. So he was our first choice as the third board member.The ISSA will be a non profit organization. It's not yet. That's the next step. But the paperwork is being files with the IRS immediatly.The mission statement:To preserve and promote the art of Shou' Shu' for the benefit of mankind.There will also be an offshoot of the ISSA which is the Sheng Chi Foundation .If you'd like to be involved in any way (big or small) please let us know. It's going to be a big project and we can use the help.SSW

To everyone who attended the cobra seminar Saturday, GREAT JOB!!!

Myself and the other Shifu's had a great time teaching it. Hope you all understand that forked tongue beast a little better than before.

Seminars are really the way to go to get a deep understanding. I plan on having more in the near future.

Due to the recent Sonora studio circumstances.  I will see that all students in Sonora who are interested in continuing their training in Shou' Shu' will continue to recieve lessons.

Please refer to this site for times and locations.

If you wish to continue your Shou' Shu' training please let me know by contacting me through this site or you may call Shifu Liz at the Valley Springs Quan at 772-1760.

We will guage the interest and set up classes accordingly.

I apologize for any inconvenience you have suffered. I was not aware of the situation until very recently and am taking the necessary steps to remedy it.

Shifu Liz, myself, and the other Shifu's and instructors will do all that is necessary to see that you can continue training in the art of Shou' shu' Kung Fu.

I do need to know interest levels though so please contact us. We most likely do not have contact information for all Sonora students so please tell others that I will be teaching in the area and to please contact me if they are interested in training.
