Hope Everyone is Training Well!
Sorry I haven't been on the sight in a while. My computer got a "Blue Screen of Death". :) I'm still not sure what that means...but I do know that it cost almost as much to fix as it would have to buy a new darn computer! Well, its fixed...so I hope I get the chance to use it more and visit the sight. It looks like you all have had alot going on since the last time I was able to log on.
I have a question...and I hope someone can help me out.....
I still don't have a school to train at, but I met a man a couple of weeks ago that claims to have studied with Dashifu Moore. He says hes a 5th degree...and at this point I have no reason to dought him based on the few things hes said and has shown me. He says he studied with Dashifu Al Moore in the California valley about 30 years ago, but he wont say for how long or exactly where. His name is Shifu Darick Morgan. Is there anyone here on the sight who knows him or has heard of him? If you have....I'd really like to know. I told him about the sight, but apparently he has no use for computers.
If anybody knows him....please let me know.
Thanks,
Jack-

Unlikely
I don't profess to know of everyone who has ever studied Shou' shu' but that name doesn't bring up anything for me other than Derrick Morgan the reggae Ska artist.
there also a few flaws in the argument.
If when you say Da' Shifu Moore you are reffering to Da' Shifu Al Moore Sr and when you are reffering to Shou' Shu' you mean Northern Shou' Shu' then I'd say it's doubtful. Da' shifu started teaching Shou' Shu' commercially right around 1970. Before that he was involved in teaching Kempo and had hand in what today is known as Bok Fu. So 30 years ago would have meant he would have attained 5th in under ten years. Hardly enough time to attain 2nd.
As far as I know only two (non Moore) individuals were tested for anything 5th or above by Da Shifu ever. That would be Shifu James Clark (I personally think his title should be Da' Shifu Clark but I'm not sure of his opinion on this) and Shifu Wayne Smith.
Yes Da' Shifu trained others before opening his Shou' Shu' schools but he told me none of them ever got anywhere.
If you are reffering to Da' Shifu Al Moore Jr. and Southern Shou' Shu' then I'd also have to say very unlikely. I am not familiar with those who tested under Da' Shifu Al Moore Jr. at all. Don't know them. However at that time I'd estimate that he was about a 2nd so probably couldn't have promoted someone to 5th.
But like I said. I certainly don't know everyone and everything.
Might be interesting to see what Shifu Morgan has got.
Welcome back though. It's good to hear from you.

Thanks for the info...
I don't know enough about the history or the people involved to know whos who. So far he hasn't really given me alot of history other than what I've mentioned. Hes only spoken to me on a few occations and to no great length. Getting him to say much at all is like pulling teeth. :) From what little he has shown me, I have know dought that he has studied Shou Shu, but I certainly cant say what he may have that would be true or not at this time. He seems to have a preferece for northern styles.
I know that Shifu Sefraph showed me a few things that were beyond my level of ability that were mongoose and mantis. "Shifu" Morgan did show me a little mantis, but it was nothing like what Brad had shown me in the past. So I don't know what to make of this man yet.
I think its going to take a bit to get any valuable information out of "Shifu" Morgan. Like I said, thanks for the information...and its good to be back. :)
