"Be the Cobra"
Today’s my birthday. I am 20,440 days old. I put it this way to remind myself that everyday is a gift and since we are given so many of them we should be happy, and because we don’t know how many we have left, we should make the most of every one. Everyday should be lived to the fullest. Day # 20438 (Saturday) was a great day for me. I trained at the river with Shun Shifu where I relearned some important principles of the Green Belt Hand Set Form. Trying to grip into the slippery, uneven ground showed me once again how important the feet are in generating the power of the Shou Shu hand weapons. Then I reviewed my Cobra Form and tested for First Brown and passed. I have worked on cobra principles for 351 days, but who’s counting. Everyday was totally inspiring and fun. Learning to move in the way of the cobra, the first pure beast, is an awesome adventure. You become amazed at the feeling and insight into Shou Shu that is happening to you. You become committed to learning as much as you can. You want to walk around all day slithering and cobra striking everything in your path. 2024 days ago at the age of 50 I found Shou Shu and all of these days have been great. These days have made me more confident, excited, happy, and peaceful than before. I encourage you all to make Shou Shu a part of every one of your days. You will see exactly what I have seen.Your fellow student, Mr. McConnell

Riki Tiki Tavie
Yep it's the poem out of the Riki Tiki Tavie book. I've always loved that poem.
BTW I found the book for download at The Gutenberg project
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/236
and in audio at Storynory

These are two of the coolest sites on the internet IMHO
I'm gonna download it to my ipod and people will think I'm listening to some hip tunes when I'm really listening to kid stories :-0
Oh well.

Congrats Mr, McConnell
Congrats on your blk prep!!! Looks like we will be calling you Shifu in the very near future. Keep up the great work!!!!
Hey, Shifu
Hey, Shifu Hashimoto,
Good to hear from you. I was really into cobra at the end there. Shifu Ferrerro gave a seminar a couple months back which was really inspiring. Shun Shifu gave a couple too. Then I worked with him down at the river twice, once doing the cobra form and once doing the handset, on the bank and in the rocks. It was good for balance and drive. I'm not kidding I go around everywhere, at home, work, wherever just doing the techniques and form. Now I can use all the help I can get reviewing. The more time I can get with different shifus, the better I think I can get it all to sink in, so yeah, sometime if we can get together it wouldd be great. So, let's keep in touch. Tell Mr. Woodard I said Hi!!

Here's to 18250 plus
Here's to our committed 18250 day old black preps. HHmmmm I believe we have two of them now. So who will be the next Sheng Chi Shifu. I'm gonna guess it won't be one of the younguns.
Congratulations Mr. McConnell. Nothing makes us happier than a good test. We love it when we know Shou' shu' will be passes on right.
So on the subject of cobras can anyone name the characters refferred to in this snippet of a poem
guess
I'm going to guess Rikki Tikki Tavie, The mongoose against the cobra.
