Training Tips

I'm hoping this will become a regular discussion, with everyones ideas and motivations. I will try and put some topic up weekly.
"Practice slowly" Many times it is necessary to practice a technique or movement slowly. This allows muscle memory and feeling to begin to develope. Practicing slowly enough to make corrections in the techniques or movements without creating stops can be extremely beneficial. It is difficult, at times, to try and take out stops that have been artificially or unintentially created.

I'm with ya there!
I totally agree with you Mr. Miller! Muscle memory is a very important aspect in martial arts....and it certainly is with Shou Shu. It helps take out the stops and develope the muscles for the motion itself. I realize that when a technique or motion is executed at combat speed that a person wont be low and driving for very long, but you never know how many times you may have to be low or how long you'll have to stay low and drive durring a fight.
By the way, thanks for the advice about useing the staff to work on my flow....it took a while, but it DID make a really good difference. Train hard!
