Well my students really like the knife kata in place of the old blue boring one. Gives them stuff they need and does not just have them do moves they already know in kata form.

I think the only knife situation I've ever been in was as a kid in Alaska. I was in Bethel Alaska which was a really rough town. There were some big time racial problems in that town and my brother and I were the only two in town who were of the discriminated against persuasion. This other kid pulled a knife on me in an isle of the grocery store. I didn't know anything back then so I just grabbed his throat and squeezed. Don't know why he didn't just cut my arm but he didn't. I guess he didn't know anything either. :-)

Knife Kata
I'm really digging it so far. I've actually been in the situation for the first move before back in high school. At that time the only option I really had was to bluff the dude out. I'm glad I was ballsier than him.
